First-Year Students Admitted FA26 or After
ROUND 1
- Entering first-year students will have three semesters to complete a Leaders in Progress and Service Foundational Course (fall/spring/fall).
- Summer terms will not count toward the three semesters.
- Students must register for and complete a version of the Foundational Course specified on the JMHP website. For some JMHP students, this will be a section of the GT 2030 Progress & Service Forum offered by the JMHP. For other JMHP students (depending on your year of entry and your major degree program), this will be a section of a different Foundational Course. Always check with the JMHP Academic Advisor to ensure that you register for and complete a version of the Foundational Course that satisfies this JMHP retention requirement.
- After the withdrawal deadline of the student’s second fall semester (typically the third week in October), an audit of JMHP students will be conducted. For any students who do not remain continuously enrolled following their entering semester, the audit will be conducted in the third semester of their enrollment at Georgia Tech (excluding summer terms). Those students who are not registered for a section of the Foundational Course at the time of the third-semester audit will be disenrolled from the JMHP.
- Students will be removed from the Canvas site.
- Students will be removed from Suitable.
- Coding will be removed in Banner, thereby preventing them from registering for future JMHP classes.
- Students will be informed that they are no longer members of the JMHP and may not represent themselves as JMHP members effective as of the conclusion of their third semester of enrollment (excluding summer terms).
- Disenrolled students will be allowed to remain enrolled in JMHP classes (if applicable) through the conclusion of the current semester but will not be allowed to enroll in JMHP classes thereafter.
- Disenrolled students will be allowed to remain resident in JMHP housing (if applicable) for the remainder of the academic year contract but will not be allowed to reside in JMHP housing thereafter.
- A list of all students who are disenrolled after the third-semester audit will be provided to Housing and Residence Life.
- Housing and Residence Life will exclude students on the list from JMHP housing options thereafter.
ROUND 2
- Students who completed the Foundational Course within their first three semesters (excluding summer terms) will be checked again in spring of their third year of enrollment or, if not enrolled in that spring semester, in their next semester of enrollment (excluding summer terms).
- Students must complete at least one Immersive Learning Experience (ILE) by the conclusion of the spring semester of their third year or, if not enrolled in that spring semester, in their next semester of enrollment (excluding summer terms).
- Always check with the JMHP Academic Advisor to ensure that you register for an ILE Mentoring Cohort and complete an ILE that satisfies this JMHP retention requirement.
- After Phase II registration closes in the spring semester (Friday of the first week of classes, typically the second week of January), an audit of JMHP students will be conducted. For any students who are not enrolled in that spring semester, the audit will be conducted in their next semester of enrollment (excluding any summer terms). Students who have not completed an ILE and are not registered for an ILE in that spring semester will be disenrolled from the JMHP.
- Students will be removed from the Canvas site.
- Students will be removed from Suitable.
- Coding will be removed in Banner, thereby preventing them from registering for future JMHP classes.
- Students will be informed that they are no longer members of the JMHP and may not represent themselves as JMHP members effective as of the conclusion of spring semester of their third year or, if not enrolled in that spring semester, the conclusion of their next semester of enrollment (excluding summer terms).
- Disenrolled students will be allowed to remain enrolled in JMHP classes (if applicable) through the conclusion of the current semester but will not be allowed to enroll in JMHP classes thereafter.
- Disenrolled students will be allowed to remain resident in JMHP housing (if applicable) for the remainder of the academic year contract for the academic year in which they are disenrolled but will not be allowed to live in JMHP housing thereafter.
- A list of all students who are disenrolled after this ILE audit will be provided to Housing and Residence Life.
- Housing and Residence Life will exclude students on the list from JMHP housing options thereafter.
- Students who register for an ILE in the spring of their third year of enrollment or, if not enrolled in that spring semester, in their next semester of enrollment (excluding summer terms) and then withdraw from the ILE by the withdrawal deadline will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
