Honors Program Housing
All students–whether admitted as a first-year or transfer student–who participate in the Honors Program LLC are required to live in HP housing in Eighth Street Apartments for their first year (first semester only for spring transfer students).
After the first year, rising second year students have the option of living in Honors Program housing or off-campus (refer to the acceptance agreement for first-year students). All other upper-year students (including those who were admitted as transfer students) are offered housing on a first-come, first -served basis, up to the capacity of our residence halls. We are able to accommodate many–but not all–upper-year students who would like to live in HP housing, but it is not required beyond the first year.

All rising second years and beyond are able to pick their room (self-assign) based on the number of credit hours they have earned at GT (i.e., not including AP, IB, dual enrollment, transfer credit, etc.). It is not based on the timing of when you completed the housing application. Students in roommate groups can use the date of the student with the earliest self-assign time ticket.
Following is information to assist with common housing issues. Please note that all aspect of housing (applying, assignments, waitlists, move-in, move-out, etc.) are handled by the Office of Housing and Residence Life and not by the Honors Program.
