How to Apply to the JMHP
All students–including entering transfer students–are invited to apply after being admitted to Georgia Tech. Transfer students apply via their Admission Portal. To apply to the John H. Martinson Honors Program, navigate to the "Portals" section and click on the link for the "John H. Martinson Honors Program Portal," which will take you to the application page.
Transfer students are required to live in the JMHP residence halls for their first year (or spring semester only, for spring transfer students). JMHP students live together in Eighth Street Apartments in alternating apartments of first-year and upper-level students, including upper-level transfer students.
Please note that you can only be a member of ONE living learning community on campus, so transfer students who elect to participate in the Transfer-Year Experience Program are not eligible to join the JMHP.
APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Get admitted to Georgia Tech (congrats!).
2. Apply to the JMHP via the Admission Portal using the steps outlined above.
3. Receive an admissions decision based on the application timeline below.
4. You DO NOT have to commit to Georgia Tech or apply for housing to apply to the JMHP.
5. You DO have to commit to Georgia Tech and apply for housing to ACCEPT YOUR OFFER OF ADMISSION from the JMHP. Students may accept their offer of admission to the JMHP via the Admission Portal.
6. Once admissions offers are made, space in the JMHP is available on a first-come, first-served basis up to the capacity of our residence hall. Once we have reached capacity, you may elect to join the waitlist.
APPLICATION DEADLINES FOR FALL 2026
Deadline to Apply
Early Action: TBD
Regular Decision: TBD
Note that students can choose to apply by either deadline. Transfer students admitted to Georgia Tech for the summer semester are not required to apply by the early action deadline, but may opt to do so in order to receive a JMHP admissions decision earlier.
The JMHP will release admission decisions on:
Early Action: TBD
Regular Decision: TBD
Applications received after the regular decision deadline until the application portal closes will be reviewed on a rolling basis if there are spaces remaining in the program. For rolling decisions, there is no fixed decision release date and students will be notified via email ONLY IF A SPACE BECOMES AVAILABLE. It is strongly recommended that you apply no later than the regular decision deadline, as spots tend to fill quickly.
The application portal will close in late June and no additional applications will be accepted after that time.
